Social Compliance

Consumers expect manufacturers, importers, and retailers to enforce minimal worker and environmental health and safety practices of their suppliers. Developing and implementing a worker or environmental compliance program is a huge task. A critical step in implementing a social compliance program is identifying your supplier network; our section on supplier network addresses those issues. Companies do have options; you can join one of several compliance networks or develop your own program and standards. One critical decision is to decide if you want to implement a "Bright Line" program where all suppliers are required to meet your expectations within a defined time period or to implement a "Continuous Improvement" program where improvement towards a defined level of compliance is acceptable. Either program has pros and cons; there are other options as well.

Rider Technologies has experience identifying and mapping supplier networks and supporting the implementation of a variety of different social compliance programs. We are able to help you with the decision process and implementation challenges.
